Greg Starbird is freelance lighting designer in the Houston area. He holds an MFA in theatre design from University of Houston (2014) and a BA from Trinity University where he doubled in Philosophy and Drama.  He’s been a freelance lighting designer since 2010, operating mostly in Houston and San Antonio, and the company lighting designer for Mildred’s Umbrella since 2013.  Favorite past shows include The Dumbwaiter (Trinity University, 2011), The Beaux Stratagem (University of Houston, 2013), The Drowning Girls (Mildred’s Umbrella, 2015), The Irish Curse (Attic Rep, 2011), and Peter Pan (San Antonio Ballet, 2016).  He also enjoys building sets, welding, projection and sound design, and playing with electricity.
