MATT HUNE

Matt Hune is dedicated to presenting non-traditional performance, theatre, and opera. In addition to his work at Rec Room, he produces performances under the moniker Hune Company, which now uses Rec Room as its home. In his latest project, The Living Room Series, he converted his actual living room into a performance space and presented shows to audiences of 20 people each night. Every production played to extended and sold-out runs. Original works or adaptations include: InheritedNot Mad,Tis Pity She's a WhoreHaunted Theater, and Accidental Death of an Anarchist.  Along with his self-produced work, he has collaborated with Houston Grand Opera, Alley Theatre, Stages Repertory, Loring Theatre, and The Inconvenience among others. He has been involved in the creation or rehabilitation of multiple arts organizations.

He currently teaches in the theatre and creative writing departments at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. He has lectured and taught at Prairie View A&M University, Alley Theatre, and TUTS. 

He is a BFA alumnus of The Theatre School at DePaul University, MFA candidate at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a recipient of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts award for Theatre.
