Stephanie Wittels Wachs

Stephanie is a native Houstonian and long-time theatre artist. Prior to launching Rec Room, Stephanie ran the acting program at The High School for Performing and Visual Arts. Her students have gained admission into such reputable theatre programs as New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, CCM, DePaul, Northwestern, Columbia, CalArts, U of M/Guthrie Theatre Actor Training Program, Texas State University, Otterbein, North Carolina School of the Arts, USC, The University of Chicago, The New School, Fordham University, Elon University, and Emerson College.
Stephanie co-hosts a parenting podcast called Hands Off Parents and is a well-known voice over actress for Sentai Film Works. Her writing has been featured on Vox, Longform, Longreads, Huffington Post, Fatherly, Mamamia, and Babble.
As a theatre artist, she has worked with Stages Repertory Theatre, Boo Town, Catastrophic Theatre, The Alley Theatre and The Houston Shakespeare Festival. She holds a B.F.A in Drama with a concentration in Directing from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and an M.A. in Theatre for Educators from the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance.
